catwalk cats

Sundaaay, oh how I love you. On the menu for today: some reading and later watch this movie. But first a big cup of coffee and going trough this book I finally bought for meself: Catwalk Cats. The book tells the story of 20 years in the life of American Vogue's creative director Grace Coddington: the fashion industry, living with hair stylist Didier Malige and a bunch of cats. (I have one of my cats on my lap as I'm writing this)
more after the break

The British redhead started her career as a Vogue model when winning a modeling competition for the magazine at age 17.

Grace during her modeling years

Growing up in a small village she only got to read Vogue magazines that were outdated for three months, she fell in love with the fashion industry. Unfortunately a car accident left her face disfigured and she had to go trough plastic surgery to have it reconstructed. Two years later she became the Junior Editor for British Vogue. After nineteen years she moved to New York to work for Calvin Klein.
Later on she joined Anna Wintour to work for American Vogue. The rest is history. Gotta love this lady..

Here we have the lovely Karen Elson portraiting Grace for Vogue magazine
